We're now accepting (some) 0-conf payments
4th Mar 2017
It can sometimes take hours for Bitcoin payments to be confirmed. And by the time you know, it's too late to easily correct. We know how frustrating this is. You've sent the money, you've got no intention of double-spending, why can't you just get the service right away?
Well, now you can. We've decided to start accepting 0-confirmation payments under certain conditions:
This policy is subject to change at any time, but is accurate as of writing.
You don't need to do anything special to take advantage of this. If your payment is eligible for 0-conf acceptance, you'll get the credit added to your balance as soon as we see the transaction. If your payment is not eligible for 0-conf acceptance, it will work exactly the same as before (accepted after 1 confirmation).
This policy is currently experimental. If it goes well, we think it'll be mutually-beneficial: better service should mean happier customers and more profits. If it doesn't go well (e.g. somebody double-spends us), we'll either have to tighten the policy, or just stop accepting 0-conf payments entirely.
We know it's easy to double-spend us and steal the money, but please just don't do it... :)
Here's to the future!
Yours faithfully,
James Stanley
